Scrubd Esthetics, Lindsay Koenig
While pursuing her master's degree as a nurse practitioner, Lindsay Koenig decided to become certified as a permanent makeup artist to earn some additional income while going back to school.
In 2019, Lindsay opened Scrubd Esthetics in Wexford, PA. By 2020 she grew her business into a full-service permanent makeup studio. She has one more year of schooling to become a nurse practitioner. Her goal after graduation is to license the studio as a medical spa and add additional services in medical aesthetics.
As her side business picked up Lindsay started connecting with SCORE Pittsburgh for seminars and webinars. Lindsay credits SCORE and mentor, Kathy Ellis, for helping her business in many ways. “From organization, marketing, finances, and mentorship, SCORE has given me vital skills to be a successful small business owner.
Lindsay’s advice for anyone with an interest in starting a business: “Just go for it! This has been the most challenging and rewarding thing I have ever done. Once you're ready, latch onto the services SCORE offers you, get a SCORE mentor, work hard, and never look back!
