SCORE's mentors, comprised of active and retired business men and women, provide clients with free and confidential business counseling. Counseling can be conducted at the client's place of business, at our chapter headquarters, by telephone or via email.
Set-up an appointment to meet with a business counselor to develop your business plan, discuss a new idea or tackle a business problem. There is no charge for counseling, no matter how many sessions are needed. Each session will last about one hour.
We will continue to be interested in your progress, so follow-on sessions are encouraged. Counseling/Mentoring is available to all U.S. citizens over the age of 13. SCORE Pittsburgh counselors are available at convienent locations in Pittsburgh regional communities in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Washington counties.
If you prefer, fill out the mentor request form. A mentor from SCORE Pittsburgh will contact you shortly to set-up a one-on-one counseling appointment. SCORE Pittsburgh also offers an e-mail counseling program the draws upon the resources of SCORE chapters nationwide.

The Small Business Basics Workshop: How to Start & Grow Your Business is intended to help new businesses get off to the right start by studying the legal requirements of starting a business, and covering subjects that will impact the success or failure of the business. Subjects covered in the workshop include Developing an Effective Business Plan, Record Keeping and Taxes, Bank Loan Financing, Marketing, Legal Aspects of Small Business.
Presenters include professionals in the field as well as SCORE Pittsburgh counselors. Upcoming Workshops are listed on the right sidebar on this page.

Speakers Bureau: SCORE has a Speakers Bureau that arranges for a SCORE member who will discuss topics related to running a start-up or small business in western Pennsylvania. The speakers are available for meetings of professional, civic, industrial, for-profit, non-profit, fraternal or religious organization in addition to local Chambers of Commerce.
